Practical Information.

Please read this through to make your experience with me more enjoyable!

Arrival time to the studio..

could be 5-10 min before the session starts, depending on whether you need to change clothes or need a quick chat with me. The facilities do have a changing room & a shower.

If you happen to arrive earlier than expected & your session is not the first that day, you are welcome to enter even if I happen to be teaching at the time. You are welcome to sit & wait in my little cozy corner or use the time to change for your session.

For breastfeeding mothers, you could think about arriving so that you have time to feed your baby (if you bring them along). That can ease discomfort for certain exercises & might ensure that your baby will be also more co-operative during our session.

You will find the studio..

just about 2 min walking distance from the Fruängen metro & bus stations. The entrance is at the side of the building, closest to the bus station. You will see a sign “THE PILATES PLACE” outside. A staircase will take you down into my space. GPS will want to lead you to the back yard, so ignore that. If the door is closed, just knock & come in. If you are scheduled, I will be expecting you.

If you have trouble finding us, don’t hesitate to call or text me at 0793 049 151 before the commencement of our session.

Parking..

can be sometimes found right in front of the studio entrance, in a small parking lot. But there is never a guarantee for a spot. So, an alternative would be to park on the side streets near the studio, or there is 2 hours free parking at the parking lot for Hemköp at Fruängen Centrum.
If you are driving, please try to plan so that you have time left for finding parking before our session starts.

Stroller access..

If you are attending a private training session, I can help you lift the stroller inside. Just let me know in advance. As the space is small, it will not be possible to bring the strollers inside for semi-private (group) sessions.

Therefore, a general recommendation for everyone is to bring your baby to the postpartum session in a carrier or bring a lock & sufficient rain protection (if necessary) to lock the stroller outside, next to the stairway.

The best workout clothing..

to choose to wear is form-fitting (that allows me to see your body & its movement better which makes my work more precise) but comfortable (opt for clothing that allows you to move freely & does not cut into your body.

For mat work, we do not have to use socks but if you are attending a PT, I would like to ask you to wear socks for when we are using the Reformer machine for hygiene purposes.

Accessories..

such as bigger jewellery & watches are best not worn during the session as it might be uncomfortable or harm the Pilates equipment. If you have long hair, it’s always best to tie your hair up, so that it wouldn’t bother you or for safety reasons on the Reformer.

Personal belongings..

such as change of clothes, bags (does not apply for diaper or toy bags) & outerwear is best left at the changing room to keep our studio space free of clutter & distractions. It will be helpful for yourself & others in class.

If you bring your baby, be prepared..

by bringing some comforting items & entertainment for them. You know your baby best - come as prepared as you can in order to get some “me-time”.

When we have a session with small babies present, it might never go quite as planned. Children are different & you might all follow individual routines around sleep, feeding etc. They might get bored, they might want you close at most inconvenient moments, they might get hungry or need a nappy change. It is all normal & we will adjust to the circumstance the best to our ability. That’s motherhood after all, isn’t it?!

Do not get discouraged when your baby cries or makes noise during the class. Never apologise for them - we have all been there & everyone comes knowing that it can happen. Attend to your baby whenever you feel that you need or want to during the session & follow along as much as you can.

I can tell you with quite a lot of certainty that if you bring the baby along, you will be sitting out some exercises, and that is ok. We learn in many ways, one of them being observation. The fact that you are present & thinking along around your recovery is enough!

We gotta take every win that we can get during this time!

Thank you for reading this through!
I look forward to seeing you in our session.
